The Nature Center had its grand opening on May 20.  The 100 or so people in attendance included Dr. Norman Merrifield, Director of Richmond Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities, Deputy Directors Barry Russell and Deborah Morton, Operations Manager Marlie Smith and Recreation Program Coordinator Tamara Jenkins.  FoBP took great joy in showing visitors our gardens, nature trail and Nature Center.  New signage introduced many to the importance of protecting and restoring our natural world, reinforcing the need to preserve land and habitat for our children and children’s children.
